how bad is the ignition problems with the 2001 z24. new starter wont turn flywheel, lights going craze...ect

the whole electrical seems crazy. new starter, battery, checked voltage with meter. starter
getting 12v , it works out of car not in with ignition. lights on dash go crazy just a loud clicking
from sylonoid and a spark-jump there too. I have checked EVERYTHING. must be the ignition ?

The first place I'd check is the ignition switch. If that's good then I'd suspect a problem with the BCM (Body Control Module). When you turn the key to the start position the ignition switch sends a "starter request" signal to the BCM. The BCM then activates the starter. The BCM also controls things like wipers, lights, horn, power locks and windows, etc. HTH. -Jim

I agree, if you hear clicking, follow the clicking and it should lead to your BCM
