2001 cavalier anti theft help

Asked by Dec 05, 2015 at 04:06 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Chevy Cavalier.  No chip in key.  Car Not turning over.     There is a small black box under dash board with a red blinking light and a switch on back. I am assuming this is something to do with the anti theft. I have tried the relearn trick and have checked all the fuses.  Any help is appreciated.

Your car uses a transponder key. If this is a new key it must be programmed to the car. If you don't already have a working key it must be done at the Chevy Dealer. If this key has worked in the past it's a problem with the anti-theft module. That so called 10 minute relearn trick is a myth. HTH. -Jim
