Going over dips in the road and speed bumps my car shakes in the rear tires. How do I know if its an issue with the struts the shocks or the sway bar? I want to fix the problem as cheaply as I can.

First check to see if the lug nuts are tight. Then have a shop get the car on the lift to inspect what the issue is. Might be a worn or broken suspension component. Replace what needs to and nothing more to help with the $$$ issue. Shaking can be a safety issue for you an others on the road if you lose control. Have it looked at ASAP.

Follow Tom's advise. You could have a broken part or the struts could be in need of replacement.
