Crank no start

Asked by Feb 19, 2017 at 08:12 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 2 Dr LS Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I asked this question about a
week ago but I guess not in
enough detail. My 1998 s10 2.2
extended cab was taking me
home one day with more wait
than I should've ever put on it but
not riding rubber stops just
bumping them along when I left
a intersection it may or may not
have gotten to second gear and
it shut off on me. It was the
exact opposite of magical it was
like someone had unplugged it
on me. So after I got it home I
didn't notice anything out of the
ordinary on the dashboard but I
swapped some relays around I
noticed that the security lot was
flashing.it doesn't have a
chipped key for the resistors so I
looked it up on the internet and it
was the quick Fixx that they had
for it they had two separate ones
and then fixed it but when I swap
the relays under the dash
around-the-clock set the
security light again and the easy
one won't reset it somebody told
me that there was a another
reset thing with the ignition and
10 or 11 minutes or something
like that does anybody out there
know the exact on that and you
know it the way it done and I was
thinking maybe you're wired just
not lose your ground or
something checked everything I
could Overlook something but
pretty much checked everything

With the security light on or flashing this is a security system failure. The 10 minute relearn procedure will not work in your situation. You need to be towed to your local Chevy Dealer for repair. HTH. - Jim
