Can you run a s10 w/o a.condenser
Yes. Dorman A/C Compressor By Pass Pulley -- Sale Price: $31.44 Quantity: Part Number: 3681-07012501 Condition: New Shipping Options: Ground
That one is listed on partsgeek.com. But you local auto parts should also be able to get one.
Oh by the way. That by pass pully takes the place of your ac compressor so you can use the factory size belts. Hope this helps.
Damn I made a mistake. You said condenser. Did you really mean compressor? As far as the condenser goes the answer is yes just take lines off of it and un bolt it from the frame of truck. Ac will not work but I figure it's not working any way.
You will want to unplug the compressor though. In the defrost position the compressor comes on. With the A/C system open the compressor will eventually seize up from lack of oil. It won't hurt anything else but at that point it will have to be removed. HTH. -Jim
You can run your S10 without a condenser but you won't have air conditioning. You can leave your A/C compressor mounted on the engine instead of purchasing the pulley bypass kit. Compressor will not seize up because there is no refrigerant with condenser removed and low pressure safety switch prevents the compressor clutch from engaging.
Good point Frank, I forgot about the low pressure cut off switch. Oops!! -Jim
i meant condensor and the compressor was shot to began with and i didnt want to spend the money to get it fix if i didnt have to thanks for the advice everyone
Your welcome. Recap. Condenser -- just unhook it and drive. Compressor -- remove compressor and get a by pass pully so your regular belt will work.
