S10 V6 COMPUTER DELETE
I HAVE A 96 S10 4.3 AUTO XCAB IV HAD 8 S10S OVER THE YEQRS. IS IT REASONABLE TO UNHOOK THE COMPUTER SYSTEM? GO TO CARBURATION WITH OUT MESSING UP THE REST OF THE TRUCK? IM STUCK IN THE 60'S CANT HELP IT. CAN'T DEAL WITH THE CUMPUTERS AND IM NOT GOING TO SPEND $1000 BUCKS TO GET A FUEL THING??????? FIXED AGAIN.... I CAN FIX A 60'S S10. IS THERE A BOOK ON THIS STUFF? MANY THANKS TO ALL
sorry to say no,it cant be done.besides their is no carburated intake made for a 4.3.
No, especially if your state has emissions inspections. Here in PA, '96 and newer vehicles are checked by OBD-II scantool for emissions compliance. Your truck would not pass an emissions test because of the removal of the computer system, and so would be undriveable under any legal way. Haynes makes a book on electronic engine controls you might want to pick up...
THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR BUT NEEDED TO KNOW. GUESS I'LL HAVE A ''V8'' INSTEAD.
