My 1994 Chevy S-10 is acting strange
On occasion, my truck will act as if it is running out of gas when it has more than enough fuel in the tank. I have noticed that this usually happens on warmer days. If I let it sit for a little while, the problem will usually disappear. It usually happens while driving on the highway, as well, and has left me stranded once. Could you point me in the right direction as far as where to start looking or what I might need to replace to fix this?
Sounds like the fuel pump is about to go get a fuel pump pressure test done.
Best to do the pressure test after vehicle has shut down.
Could be a fuel pump, could also be a fuel tank venting problem or even a vapor lock as you stated it did it on the warmer days and highway speeds. Has the rig been modified in any way? Might be a good idea to check the fuel line routing, make sure it is not too close to a heat source like an exhaust pipe or manifold.
