93 chevy s10 2.5 tbi L4 cranks but wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had a water pump go bad truck overheated and died. Ever
since then it will crank but not start. Checked fuel pressure
(11.3 psi) replaced fuel filter just to be safe. Still nothing.
Proceeded to give it a full tune up (plugs, wires, dizzy cap
and rotor, EGR, air filter, battery and cables) on top of
replacing my radiator, water pump, thermostat housing and
thermostat.(as advised by my local shop) STILL WONT
START but cranks like a champ and sounds like it wants to
start.....any help or ideas are welcome I'm all ears as I'm
stumped.....

Did you check fuel pressure after changing filter? Run a compression test, after overheating to the point of dying it may have caused some internal damage (uncommon as long as oil level is good, but not unheard of)

10.4 psi after changing the fuel filter. After the overheat it was a quart low on oil when I did the oil change if that helps to know...

Fuel pressure on the 93 s10 should be somewhere around 55-60. Check the fuel pressure regulator, otherwise it may be the pump itself

Do you have spark? If not, check the ignition coil. It may be fried from overheating. Hope that helps! Jim
