I have a 2005 f350 I bought used for a smoking
deal well having some electrical issues no
windows no guages and no radio. Fuses 42 46 47
30 31 and 32 have no power to them. Also there is
a box between the driver side fender and battery
that holds 2 relays what are they for
There are now problems with the main power distribution box, it might just have to be replaced but dis-assembly of the box will be needed to verify the problem. I believe that box is for the towing relays.
What might have to be replaced? And that's is what I thought those 2 relays were since they weren't part of main fuse panels. Do I replace the fuse and or curcuit breaker
Once you get the power distribution box pulled apart you will see what needs replaced.
This is the most common area where the burning happens, I could not find a good pic of a burned one but you will know it when you see it. See pic
Ok so I can replace things on the panel itself or would it just be easier to get another panel I'm going to take apart this week
Might be easier too get another panel, but if the connector plugs are burned also you in for a battle unless you find a good one at a wrecking yard then your can just solder and shrink wrap the wiring.
try to buy a new complete fuse box it comes with all the relays and fuses.
if it is like the fuse block on a F350 2008 or Power distribution box; the circuit board is fried in many locations on the green board. One option is to order one online. I did so. the read out that your plug in will tell you all sorts of bullshit if your circuit board is fried.
2008 Superduty 6.4 diesel crewcab. First truck would start. I fixed that by wiring direct with push button start button to starter. ABS light went on airbags went on; radio stopped working. after a year I found out the problem. The circuit board in the engine fuse block was burning out slowly. So I ordered one online cheap for $140 CDN. Now the option is to hard wire this fuse block to the harness wire that runs into it or try to open it up and switch the circuit board. so once I get part I will remove fuse box and see it it come apart to change with one I have ordered. if not Option 2 : cut harness and hardwire to substitute fuse box.
