Why am I losing oil pressure when accelerating?

Asked by Apr 08, 2015 at 10:15 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LT 4WD

Question type: General

I have a 2002 chevy trailblazer LT, the oil pressure is fine at idle but as soon as you give
it gas the pressure drops down to 0. Any ideas what may cause this issue?

Check the oil level. If it's overfull the oil will foam and the oil pump will be sucking air instead of oil. This will cause the oil pressure to drop. HTH. -Jim

But if it's not overfilled it's possibly the oil pump.
