How and what basis does CarGuru use to value vehicles? I have found a 2006Ford XL Crewcab 4x4 for under 17000 but theysay the instant value is over 23000 but NADA shows under 16000 value. What gives
I wonder what the Kelly Blue Book value is. www.kbb.com
It's hard to say what sales people think. Besides, they don't sell cars for what they're worth - they sell them for what they can get.
The instant value of $23K is what it's value is at retail. NADA is National Automotive Dealers Association and their price is what they will pay for a particular vehicle. If they pay 16K, then they can sell it for 23K and make about 7K on the vehicle. That's why you always get much less on a trade-in than if you sold it outright. Kenny/MrBlueOval.
