fuel pumps constantly running , no power in drive , starting up , motor will start popping when giving gas ,
High mileage? It may have jumped time by a notch. Just a guess....the chain can stretch, it happened to me on my F250 @ 145,000 miles. HARD miles, abused actually, I went ahead and just put another engine in. I am NOT saying YOU need an engine. There are so many many more possibilities.
Either fuel starvation or a plugged Cat. The silent timing chains of that era use a nylon gear - they don't skip a couple of teeth - they sheer several off and the engine will not restart; much like a timing belt will lose several teeth and just sit and slip. Either your engine is starving for fuel or can't breathe.
Try replacing the MAP sensor. I had similar problems a few years ago my map sensor was bad.
