my f150 goes into any gear but when i press on the gas pedal the only thing moving are the rpms, what would i need to check first to see what the problem is?

Check your transmission fluid level. If it is too low to go in gear then you must have a good sized leak which needs to be fixed. Running really low on fluid will ruin transmissions.
