2002 Chevrolet suburban no crank no start
Basically my 2002 Chevy suburban is acting up by
not starting or turning over.. just bought a new
battery, new alternator, new starter. The lights on
the dash light up but the gauges won't work the
radio comes on and horn/lights work the radio cuts
off when I turn the switch and the passenger side
Windows won't roll down
Check for blown fuses first, then move onto the ignition switch, gear selector switch and wiring.
Yeah I figured it was the ign switch but I don't think my gauges and Windows would be acting up or my radio cutting off when I try to turn it over
It acts like a bad battery when I turn the key I get nothing
This really sounds like you have more than just one problem. All accessories drop out when the key is placed in the crank position, so radio and windows not working in that position is normal, my GMC also drops out the radio when ignition is cranking, never tired to roll down a window in that position but I'm sure they quit also. The ignition switch is the first thing I would check.
Idk its weird man now my speedometer is on 100
This is what I'm looking at
How would I go about checking it?
Does it drop when the key is turned off? If it does then there could be a short in the VSS circuit or sensor. You really need a good live data scanner, that way you could see in real time what each sensor is telling the. ECM. And its response to those readings.
No not at all it stays there. It's been like that since this morning, I'm hoping once I resolve the issue it goes back to normal
Ok if it stays at full scale then you have a stuck stepper motor in side the cluster assembly for the speedometer drive, you can get replacements on EBay very reasonable, but be very careful replacing them, there is also some videos on you tube on doing this type of work.
