GAUGES A/C SHUT OFF
My dads truck has issues with the gauges and a/c losing power. Not all the
time but it does it frequently. He also claims a few times it lost power too. I
haven't experienced that but the issues with the gauges and a/c I could
confirm. I need to take it in for service but I want to know if anyone else has
had these issues? Would it be something I could repair? Don't want to be
taken advantage of by the shop either.
Occasional lack of engine power could be several things. Consider the age of the vehicle. A clogged Cat converter can cause a lack of power. Insufficient back pressure from the exhaust could also result in a lack of power. Fuel delivery could be a problem. Also the PCM not sending a switching signal to the injectors. An overheating condition can cause the AC to shut off. Remember, if the issue(s) are not present when the mechanic looks at it, he'll never locate the problem, especially if the problem is electronic.
