The engine misses when its very humid or raining
If I gradually give it gas it stutters, but if I speed up in a hurry it seems ok.
5.4 ltr V8 FX4 70,000 mi.
lol must have never owned a ford!! its a common problem you are getting water in the valley and causeing the coil packs to short out they are probably worn find out what cyl is misfiring and replace coil pack.
Does this truck have an oil type air filter like a K&N? If so clean the mass air flow sensor in the intake tube as it may be contaminated with oil. If not, have it scanned for trouble codes at a local auto-parts store. This is usually a free service. You probably need spark plugs and coil on plugs (spark plugs usually last 100,000 miles). If the trouble code scan shows a certain cylinder or cylinders miss firing I would replace all the coils. Ford - Motorcraft replacement coils are your best bet, but they cost more than most of the junk sold at auto parts stores. You can get them online for a pretty good price.
Time for a tune up. HTH. -Jim
