Usually about twenty minutes of uninterrupted driving, so no turning of the engine or just letting it idle, the computer needs to read action from the sensors.

That's suppose to be, no turning off the engine.

The gas gauge also needs to be between 3/4 and 1/4 for all the readiness monitors to set. You will pass emissions inspection with one of the monitors not set as long as all the others are set. HTH. -Jim

Guess it depends on the vehicle. After replacing EVAP components in my 2010, the procedure was long and involved. Had to print it out and carry it along. Although not accurately stated here, it was something like ten minutes street driving, five minutes stop and go, fifteen minutes of highway speed, back to street driving for a while, etc. Found the procedure on the net for the 2010. You may have success finding the exact procedure there.

That's correct OJ. It's the OBD II Drive Cycle that you're referring to. It takes about 45 minutes. HTH. -Jim
