Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When the truck is off there is a ticking noise coming from the steering column.  The sound is like a loose connection. I disconnected the battery and it stopped.    Last night something kelp running and the battery ran down.  Also sometimes when you turn off the truck the air conditioner comes on full blast and you can't be turned off. But when you turn the key back on the air conditioner goes off.  The truck is 2003 F150.  Can anyone tell me what it could be?

When the ticking is present, begin pulling fuses one at a time until the noise stops. Note the fuse number and check a wiring diagram for that number. It will give you a starting point. With the AC problem, suspect the ignition module inside the column. A color coded wiring diagram is essential here. As it a multi-meter.

The ticking is not constant. I can trigger it when opening the driver door or adjusting the pedal height (electronically) but it stops before I can start pulling fuses.
