I replaced the alternator battery  on my 2000 f150
lariat v8 4x4 now it wont  turn over I have the door
open the dome  light and dash lights go out no
click or anything but I can start it with a screw
driver on the  cylenoid

Check for boltage on small wire at the solenoid when u turn key to start position. If no voltage present, trace problem to ignition switch, loose or broken wire or bad fuse. If voltage is present, replace solenoid
