Fuel Pump

Asked by Jan 18, 2015 at 02:15 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the fuel pump and filter on an 02 cavalier and am getting no fuel at the injector
rail. So I took the the line of before the filter and getting no fuel at this point also. I
lowered the tank to make sure I did not pinch any lines when putting it back but this was
not the problem. And yes the pump is priming when you turn the key on.

Either there's a blockage in the fuel line or the new pump is defective. One other possibility is you may have mixed up the fuel line connections at the pump. One is out to the engine. One is a return line and one is a vapor line for the EVAP system. HTH. -Jim

I am being to think it might be a defective pump. The lines at the pump come connected and they are two different size connections on the other end you really cant switch them.
