Is it my alternator?

Asked by Jul 30, 2012 at 02:40 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My abs warning light came on and the ac went warm at the same time. Also my battery light would come on and
go off when I would push the gas. I didn't lose power steering and no other lights came on. If it's not the
alternator any ideas?

Check your sepentine belt. Multiple warning sounds like the belt is slipping not spinning your alternator and AC compressor. Surprised you have power steering though. Look at your belt tensioner. Let us know what you find.
