3800 series ll , coolant leaking from down low, behind a/c pully area... all hoses and
connections apear to be undamaged and securely fastened. Once the engine cools down
and the pressure reduces, the leak ceases.. any ideas will help, thank you for your time
Might be the water pump.
Thanks I will check into it..I was able to see its dripping from behind the pully just above the bottom larger pully. Thanx again ..
My bet is the water pump. There should be a weep hole in the pump. Check it for any signs of coolant. If there is, it is the water pump. A good idea is to change the hoses if you can when you change the water pump also. It may cost a "Franklin" but in the long run, worth it. The car is 12 years old and if they have not been changed yet, as long as your tearing down the water pump and connections, you have room to change the hoses. Use NEW antifreeze also.
Excellent thank you, great info and good to know. Really thanx for your help, lookin at I dont think they have ever been changed..I bought this car last year and It would appear that the last owner didnt hardly do anything with this car..the original tires even..lol thanx again I will change it all out..
