Pulling a 14 foot travel trailer
I have a 1996 f-150 with a 300 4.9 inline 6
the truck is stuck just like I bought it from
Ford it has a automatic transmission
wondering will it pull a 14 foot travel trailer
I am not sure but look to see on the drivers door, or in glove box, and possibly above one of the sun visors, to see if there is a towing rating. Or just call the ford garage.
All the info should be on the sticker on the driver's side door which also indicates the tire pressure. If you are in doubt, just plug in your vehicle description into your search engine and all the specs should be listed under towing capacities. If you are unsure what all the abbreviations mean, they can be fully explained on the net.
You can also look on the sticker on the trailer and get the gross weight of the trailer. Compare it with the towing capacity of your vehicle. If the trailer is close to the capacity of the vehicle or over, then no. The towing capacity of your truck includes more factors than the weight of the vehicle. Check the net for explanations of each abbreviation if not fully understood.
