Why does my engine keep stuttering and stalling at low speeds?
I own a Chevy Blazer 2002. At some point,
my engine started stuttering while
accelerating and idling. While at low RPMs
the engine sometimes stalls out completely.
While I was away from home my father
replaced a vacum hose that he thought was
delivering too little pressure to the engine,
however, after driving to my college the
engine continues to stutter and stall. What
could be the issue and how do I fix it?
This vehicle has over 190000 miles on it.
Try some general maintenance things first. Check air filter clean throttle body replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner to gas tank.
Here's a pretty good thread on a forum asking your same question: http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/5201/chevrolet/blazer/chevy- blazer-starting-and-stalling-problems Also: To add to the answer that was given by @firebird338, which is probably the best answer someone could give you without more details...so definitely try what he/she's suggesting - While Lucas has decent Fuel Treatment, it will only do its job for MAYBE a few months. Instead, use SeaFoam (it's a white, 'spray- paint'-looking can). It'll run ya a few more bucks, but you only have to put it in your gas twice or even once a year. The cheapest I could find it for was $6-$7 and that's at walmart, here's a link if you'd like to check it out for yourself (you'll notice it has 5-star reviews across the board..I personally love this shit): http://www.walmart.com/ip/16664932? wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=222222222270175630 59&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=57996458928&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=81 965762208&veh=sem Good luck!
