why is F150 surging when heater is on

Idles up and down when heater is on.

YOu will have to find a diagram of the idle engine control systems. I've seen some Fords have the engine temp sensor send a signal to the PCM, which in turn, will attempt to either bring the engine up to temp or cool it down via engine speed.
