I'm wondering if I can remove the valve body from a e4od >F5up-bd without having all the check balls falling out??want to try to install shift kit ti correct forthe too softness of shift or banging sometimes between 1st and 3rd I notice when the trans getting warm after about 3 miles of driving also if I put the gear into reverse more the once it gives a load bang too on the second time! thinking maybe the ele.shift control valve sensorneeds replacing too.

want to correct a sloppy 1-3 shift and reverse which has bang on 2nd time of using
those gears after enging warms up while driving about 4 miles.
like going down to the store then come out after 10 -15 min, then put into reverse(
thinking a shift kit might help and changing the Electric Shift Control Valve Swttch to
Correct ???  what you think about this??   transmission has 239,000 miles and a cooler

If it were me, I'd put a good used transmission in it. With 239,000 miles on it it's just plum worn out. HTH. -Jim
