I have a 1992 ford f150 2 tank's the front fuel pump went out, change fuel pump, filter, fuel regulator. It will crank up n run for a minute then shut off , what causes it to do that. Help me. Pl
Does it do the same on both tanks or just the front tank? Have you made sure the switching valve is operating correctly? Ford has a lot of trouble with those valves not switching fully, so the lift pumps won't run or the gauge not read correctly.
I only use my front tank, tha back leaks n where is tthe switching valve.
Located in the frame rail on the drivers side, it will have 6 fuel lines and an electrical plug connected to it.
Thanks, n do u know where the fuel shut off switch is?
It could be on the inside firewall just left and up of the steering column, or just behind the passenger side kick panel, it is of interia type so you will either have to trigger the switch or just unplug it, but I have found it easier sometimes just to pull the fuel pump relay under the hood.
