Do I have to remove motor mounts

Typically - no. In fact, I've wedged blocks of wood between the mounts to hold the engine up. BTW - it's more straight forward and only takes a little more time to pull the motor and you don't have to risk losing your hand if the motor falls.

best way--> you should hang the engine second way you can put engine holder under engine... this is risky way
