f150 xlt lariat wont fire up, can you help me, please?
i have a 1990 ford f150 xlt lariat 4x4 single cab and short bed but i can even get it to
start and run, was running previously so i know it runs, just dont know what happened,
i have replaced my distributor, icm, coil and checked fuses, replaced eec relay and fuel
relay, i am getting fuel pressure, but only getting one spark every time i hit the key, she
will not crank and idk why or what else to do... please help... truck is very
sentimental... its breaking my heart..
Could be a bad ignition switch. Try starting it with a remote starter button kit. Turn the key to the run position and crank it with the remote starter button. If it runs then the ignition switch is most likely bad. Are you getting power to the ignition coil? HTH. -Jim
Yes I am getting power to the coil and I do not have a remoter start button...I get one spark upon turning it over...every time I turn the key on and try to start I get a single spark but no more until I turn it back off and try to start again
Try bypassing everything between the ignition switch and the solenoid and jump it for a second at that location. See if it wants to turn over from that spot. If not, it's not in the switch.
Do lights, radio, etc. work when the switch is off? Check for a corroded ground wire from the battery.
Check the ground wire from the throttle body to the firewall. If it gets real hot you could a loose connection at coil .
i let run for a few min and cut off and want restart have fire and smell fuel
Stator switch could be bad in distributor.
It will crank but won't fire
