Try lubricating the door latch but you may have worn hinges. Carefully close the door and look to see if the door latch lines up with the part on the door opening.
Check the weather stip to make sure it's not preventing door to close If it's ok, adjust the latching mechanism
At first glance it looks like hinges are worn. How much of an ordeal is it to replace the hinges?
Replacing hinges is not that big of a deal, takes longer to align them. If you do replace them, u may want to mark their location with a sharpie around the hinge
Hinges are a pain. Body shops have special dollies to hold the door while you install it. Have a buddy or two around when you decide to do it.
I paid bodyshop 300 $ and they STILL couldnt get door to line up properly. Treied tellin me its cuz of my speakers yet passnger door closes perfectly n lines up perfectly. Before they fixd it tho i had to lift and pull when getting in to close. No it will close without lifting bit STILL is not lined up and door wven sticksnout a bit near bottom and goes in too far i feel at top. Waste of money. its a body shop i thought they can fix anything body related.
