when i change gears in my 1990 f-150 302 2wd my rpm will go up 200-600 rpm and will not drop.
we have changed the processor unit ,IAC 2 times, throttle body, and TPS was check and was ok. any suggestions.
spend $15 and get checked out at firestone or any other repair shop instead of replacing other parts
Could be as simple as a tachometer failure -- are your RPM readings actual, i.e. measured, or just visual from a tach? Also may be your throttle control sticking, I have seen the return springs wear out and allow throttle to stick in higher rpm.
