the stering column in my chevy 2003 trail blazer makes a clunking sound
Its probably the intermediate steering shaft. Very, very common on most GM vehicles from the early to mid 2000's. It could also be bad ball joints, tie rod ends or front shocks. Start with the ISS and go from there. I'm hoping that you ment bumps, LOL.
