My 1996 e250 bucks and sputters while accelerating, has a funny odor while idling. Could my cats be clogged

Could be that, or a loss of fuel pressure and flow causing it to go lean and that causing the smell. Could even be bad or mixed fuels, did it just start on this tank of fuel?
