If it isn't the Emergency Flashers, it's probably an alarm.

no this isn't an alarm. It is a clicking that starts out slowly and then goes quicker. almost like a gigercounter?

I don't have a clue. Where is the clicking coming from? Under the car? Under the dash? Under the hood?
