How does your truck act when the fuel pump is bad

My truck a 2003 Ford Exployer sport trek
Will start at times, that's a good thing. The  
next day it turns over but won't start. And
so on and so forth.

Most auto parts stores will rent or loan you a fuel pressure test kit, you can test your if fuel pump psi is low. Most makes/models need at least 50 psi to start. Your description alone isn't enough to suggest you have a bad fuel pump, but it's easy enough to test.
