When I try and set the speed control set button, it just flashes. It's not making permant contact. Wd 40 help before

The on button works. but the set button on the cruise control just flashes.

Most likely you will wind up replacing the switch assembly, those switches are ohm switches so if the control unit doesn't see the correct ohms reading then it won't do the command, WD 40 has possibly changed that reading.
