how do i replace check engin lamp 97 e 350

you can take the instrument cluster out and replace the bulb

It's not too difficult of a job. Keep in mind that the IP Bezel is plastic and may be brittle after all these years. Disconnect the battery, take the screws out of the Instrument Panel Bezel, remove the screws from the Instrument Cluster and disconnect the wire connector(s). They're common 194 bulbs as I recall.

OOPS! I forgot about the Transmission Range Indicator! PRNDL either snaps out of the bottom of the cluster or you may have to remove the Steering Column Cover to disconnect it. EASY to break!
