2005 Sp Trac dripping wateer from what I think is the cat conv seam and
Asked by Lernmor12417 Jan 24, 2017 at 01:53 PM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT Crew Cab
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
water dripping from seam and another "muffler looking part" further down the line of the system. It is also leaking more than normal from the tailpipe. What should I expect from repair shop, B/C I don't want to get ripped off, but I want to make sure it gets repaired properly.

It sound like it is only condensation being developed from the hot exhaust and the cool air. As you drive and warm everything up is will go away.

The leaking is probably just condensation from the exhaust but if it smells like coolant then you probably have a leaking head gasket. Muffler repairs are not all that expensive. Shop around for the best price if you are on a budget.

Coolant Leak top of engine on my 2005 Ford Sport Trac with the 4.0 V6. I checked the hoses and the thermostat, but it seems the leak is about 3 or 4 inches away from the thermostat. 3 answers
It just started out of nowhere, but it seems to be pretty bad, because the coolant tank was bone dry.
