why does my brake pedal stick when depressed and have to manuly pull it back out?

Is the pedal mushy when depressed???

No. It depresses and stops fine but just doesn't return to neutral position. I manually pull it up with my toes. I tried lubricating and no change. I am not the original questioner but I have the same truck and question.
