how to get locator in computer off chevy impalia 2003 model
I do believe my husband has out a location detection on my car, therefore he can find me, we are going through nasty divorce and lost of what to do, to get thing off my car???
I'd contact your local Police Department! I can't imagine that it's legal, without your consent, to put a GPS device on your car. The only problem with this is the device could be hidden anywhere in the car. I'm not so sure that, if he really is tracking you, the device is on/in the car. He's probably using your cell phone to track you. Especially if the phone is in his name. I'd suggest that you get a new cell phone, in your name, with a new number, and destroy the old phone. Most GM vehicles have ONSTAR and that has a locator built in, so if your ONSTAR is active then it can be tracked. But he could have also put on an aftermarket unit somewhere on the vehicle, if you believe the latter is what has happened without your consent then contact your attorney and he may want you to contact the police, between the 2 most likely you can have it removed.
Unless the OnStar System has been upgraded to digital, it's no longer active. HTH. -Jim
How do I get my tracking device to shut off wen I need it to. Got 2015 Buick LACROSSE. It has onstar.
Hi Richard. You have nothing to worry about. When Cadillac first introduced OnStar, back in the '80s, there was a lot of controversy about this. OnStar will not allow the system to be used this way. The only exception is to aid the authorities in recovery of a stolen vehicle, a missing persons case, or something else of that nature. If you're concerned about the vehicle being tracked by an unauthorized person don't be. I'm sure it's cheaper and easier to hack into someone's cell phone for that. I've never heard, in the nearly 30 years since it's inception, of someone tracking a vehicle illegally using OnStar. HTH. -Jim
