Asked by Jul 09, 2012 at 07:29 AM about the 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT Extended Cab SB

have a 2000 f250 my tail lights,park lights,and dash lights, do not work.  try to put a fuse in the fuse box, under the hood. and it blows them out, ever time i put it in within a 10th of a second. cant drive at dark. NO LIGHTS...  any help would be great, if anyone is a wireing guru, please help......

That's a direct short. A wire has damaged insulation & is touching something metal. Check the wiring near the engine. Sometimes if service was recently done that required a wire harness to be moved to get to something else, like spark plugs, for example, the heat from an exhaust manifold may have melted a wire's insulation. Also, check the wiring by the starter & tailgate. If a wire got pinched at a pivot point, such as the tailgate, that could cause the same problem. HTH. -Jim

Dash board light are not working after kid put in new stereo I have checked the fuses in the cab they are all o.k. but I did notice that there is a red white and blue & gray on pink that have been cut .
