Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive my 2003 chevy impala for about a half hour and my dome lights (
lights on the mirror and back seat lights) come on and slowly fade out. A
few minutes later they come back on and the  longer i drive it the more

right back on but when it first starts there is more time in between before it
comes back on please help I just got this car 2 months ago and have been
buying parts left and right and am paying on a loan for it so i cant really

Check vehicle recalls at the AutoZone web site for your vehicle. I found the below information there and could be the cause of several peoples issues with lights and cars not starting. 1995-1999 Chevy passenger cars;" These vehicles have the potential to experience moisture entering the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), as a result of corrosion after extended exposure to road salt, Moisture entering the PCM can lead to symptoms including illumination of the Check Engine light or the engine running rough. If these symptoms are ignored, the engine may stall and may not be able to be restarted".

Sounds like one of the doors is not closed completely or one of the switches for the dome lights is bad. HTH. -Jim
