Brake pedal goes to floor before applying brakes.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Pulled truck into shop and raised on lift and installed air bags.  When I
pulled truck into shop the brakes worked fine (pedal at the top of stroke).
Installed air bags and lowered truck. Got into truck and depressed pedal to
put truck into gear and pedal went to floor.  Have checked for leaks and
have found none, reservoir still full of fluid, no leaks and wires appear
undamaged around rear of vehicle.  Brakes do engage but just at the
bottom of the stroke of pedal.  Pedal will not get hard no matter how many
times I pump.  Truck has 235000 miles V-10 with 4x4

Have checked and did not notice any but will check again. Thank you.

If you have to get on the brakes quickly, does the pedal stay at the top but when stopping casually it goes to the floor with no leaking of fluid from the master cylinder. The problem could be the anti lock boost pump. I had the same issue with my 1999 F-350.
