Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today my car suddenly started making a crunching sounds while the defroster was
running.  When I switched the dial over to floor or vent the noise stopped.  But after a
while the fan kept blowing, but it started blowing cold air even when the heat was turned
up all the way.

I actually ended up taking my car to a mechanic when it started leaking from the radiator. Turns out a fan blade had gotten brittle and broken off (plastic factory installed fan) and punctured the plastic (also factory installed) radiator. Replaced the fan and the radiator and she works perfectly now.
