abs light goes on only when braking in the snow is this normal chevy cavalier

I had an Oldsmobile that would do the same thing, could never find anything wrong with the system when I did a code check.

thank you now my son says it is not abs it is low traction would that be air in the tires


No the "low traction" means that you have excessive wheel spin or slip, as you are driving in slick conditions it would be normal, it is just a warning to watch the highway conditions ie snow, ice, anything that can reduce traction.
