Ok oil pump went out on my 03 cavalier ls 2.2 so I'm rebuilding the engine and putting a supercharger on it what all do I need to do the the transmission to go faster
Supercharger or turbocharger? Mods to automatic trans are HD clutches, bang shift kit / valve body, high rpm stall speed convertor. But I don't know what's availible for your type of car, if any? I did all these mods to a 69' big block Camaro with a TH 400 trans. Check Jeg's & Summit catalogs & or B & M trans parts.
Ok thank u I'm doing a supercharger I feel it's probably my safest bet with less problems and less of a chance of having a blown motor
Either or, I had both a supercharged JCW Mini-S and now a turbo Fiat Abarth. The gear driven supercharged Mini made more hp but I sold it at 60k mi. before I hade to rebuild the supercharger rotor seals. $$$$ So many moving parts to worry about too. Small turbos are more reliable because of the set boost. You can live with a second of turbo lag when accelerating.

So with the motor rebuilt with bigger cams bored out T2T3 turbo kit would be my best bet? Now getting into that what exactly can I do to the motor to get the most boost without blowing my motor this turbo kit is rated more than 454 horsepower at 25 lbs. Of boost and about 100 horsepower at 8lbs. Of boost
Small tubos are only about 18 lbs. boost. This builds in reliability! You don't want to blow it up & have to rebuilt it again! Bigger cam? Not lift, but 10-20 more degrees of duration. High lift cams require special notched & high compression pistons. Be sure to use the matched valve springs in the cam & kit. With a turbo you don't need a much bigger cam. Because the air is forced in. See?
