Why does fuel pump relay on my Chevy Blazer get so hot ?

Asked by Jul 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Blazer 4 Door LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Blazer shuts down while driving, when I check the relay it is extremely
hot. I had the fuel pump replaced several months back and have problems
with the relay ever since. I've pulled it out and put back in and it has started
right back up until recently. When it shut off this last time it would not restart.
Anyone else have this problem? Could there have been a problem with the
relay port ? I've replaced the relay a few times and also used similar relay
from the board.
