Looks to have plastic clips attached to it. Might just have to replace with new switch. http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-SLK-320-MERCEDES-TOP- SWITCH-CONTROL-CONVERTIBLE-TOP-ROOF-BUTTON- 1298201610-/120971772869

sell it. Buy a MINI...that is going to be a lot more fun to drive...they make convertibles too~

Remember Men in Black? Whatever you do DON'T PUSH THE RED BUTTON!

Do you think that is the "anti-spy" feature, to knock the gun out of the perpetrator's hands?

You must slowly assess the situation....look at what failed and what can be mended....would be my only comment here~

But I would just have to push it anyway.

park it in "home position", put a piece of caution tape over the button...and call it a day.~

hope it doesn't rain...or snow...or a sandstorm like we've got in Clearlake~

I was also looking for an answer and no one has one. Obviously the clips need replacing, but the dam button fell into the console and I have no clue how to get the console open to get it back up and flush on top? I'll post this in questions. Do people who KNOW cars actually read these?
