I think its safe to say "terrible". Big engine + heavy 4x4 full size truck = worst of all worlds. Its just a matter of physics! And I'm not bitching, I'm a Chevy guy.

Depends entirely on what you use it for. ... Use it as a truck you'll get significantly less than if you're one of the idiots who buy them to pick up a gallon of milk and some bread.

fIRST OF ALL I OWN THIS TRUCK SO LEMME GIVE YOU A HAND *SLAP* SELL THIS PIECE OF SHIT YOU CAN TAKE THE BEST CARE OF IT BUT IT WILL STILL HAVE PROBLEMS EVERYWHERE, READ SOME FORUMS, THEY'LL TELL YOU, THE MOTOR WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AT 50K TRANNY AT 70K YOUR PLASTICS WILL FADE A MONTH AFTER THEY ARE IN SUN, SO THEY PROBABLY ALREADY FADED YOU'LL BE RIDICULED FOR BUYING A CROSSOVER, BECAUSE PICKUP PEOPLE WONT EXCEPT U AND NIETHER WILL ANYONE ELSE AVALANCHE PEOPLE ARE ALL GRUMPY 50 YEAR OLD MEN (WOMEN ON THE INSIDE) O..MILAGE? I DONT KNOW LIKE 13-14 WITH MIXED CITY HIGHWAY

I get between 14 and 18 mpg. It all depends on how you drive.

I used mine mostly highway driving and I surprisingly got 17-18 MPG. Which I thought was pretty good for that size vehicle. My wife has a Suburban and drives it mostly around town and is lucky to get 11 MPG.

6.0 liter with .410 rear gear...12 around town 18 highway. tows 12,500 lbs no problem. rides better than a luxury car. If you're looking for great gas mileage...buy a car. If you're looking for a truck to haul stuff for a living... buy a truck. If you're looking for an SUV that can tow, haul and ride 5 very comfortably with gear stowed in a locked bed...this is the vehicle. The plastic fades with sun exposure..I combat it by using Turtle-Wax Ice to keep it hydrated...still looks great!

mad u cant afford it

I am on my second Avalanche and loved them. My 2005 would get 12mpg in the city but 19 on the hwy and up to 21 on the country hwys around 90km/h. My 2007 has the engine that switches to 4 cyclinders. Around 14-17 mpg's in the city ususallly around 20-21 on the hiway but If you drive the speed limit I have gotten 25mpg's. I have gotten 810kms on one tank before if you drive without a heavy foot the mileage is good.
