Ignition

Asked by Aug 07, 2016 at 05:59 PM about the 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 430

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I jumped in the lake with the key to my 2000 s430 and it
ruined it and the car won't start now. Can I go to the
salvage and buy a used ignition switch that has the key and
plug it up and it work?

The used ignition switch and key will need to be programmed to the car itself to work. Probably cheaper to get a new programmed key .
